Brian Thoman

Brian Thoman is a former veteran prosecutor who now represents clients who have been charged with a crime or who are under investigation by law enforcement. His years of prosecutorial experience has provided him with a keen insight into how police and prosecutors prepare criminal cases. During his time as a prosecutor he routinely advised the police in their investigations, as well as acting as an instructor for police cadets and veteran officers at the police academy. Before leaving the prosecutor’s office, Mr. Thoman was honored with highest civilian award granted by the Newport News Police Department.

While his knowledge of prosecutorial tactics and the earned respect among prosecutors in the Hampton Roads area have played an important role in his success, Mr. Thoman believes the most crucial part of a defense is trial preparation. Mr. Thoman’s preparation begins during his first conversation with his clients, because he knows that understanding a client and their situation is essential to a winning defense. During the course of his representation, Mr. Thoman will leave no stone unturned and will work tirelessly to find any possible law enforcement error, inconsistency in evidence or witness statements, errors at trial, or any other factors that may help to achieve a dismissal, acquittal, nolle prosequi or even to prevent charges from being levied against his clients.
